Compliance to POPIA (Protection of Personal Information Act, Act 4 of 2013)

I, the undersigned parent/guardian, hereby consent to the collection, processing, and storage of my and my child’s personal information by Eterna for the purposes required to facilitate participation, safety, and administration relating to centre activities in terms of the Protection of Personal Information Act, 4 of 2013 (POPIA).

2. Scope of Information Collected

The personal information collected may include names, contact details, identification numbers, medical information, and any other information necessary for the safe operation of centre activities, registration, or compliance with lawful requirements.

3. Use of Personal Information

Personal information will only be used for the proper management and administration of the entertainment centre’s activities, for emergency contact purposes, and for compliance with regulatory or legal requirements12.

4. Sharing and Disclosure

Personal information may be shared with staff, medical professionals, legal authorities, or relevant third parties only where necessary for the safety of participants, fulfilment of the centre’s obligations, or as required by law. Any third parties shall process such information in compliance with POPIA and for the purposes indicated above only.

5. Security and Retention

Eterna undertakes to take all reasonable measures to ensure the security and confidentiality of all personal information provided, and to destroy or delete such information when it is no longer required for its intended purpose or in line with legal obligations.

6. Rights of Data Subjects

You have the right to request access to your or your child’s personal information held by Eterna.

You may request correction, deletion, or destruction of your personal information on reasonable grounds.

You may withdraw your consent to process your or your child’s personal information at any time, provided that this does not affect any processing already carried out lawfully.
